Terminación -ing • Si acaban en –e muda, quitamos esa letra antes de añadir – ing.(drive_driving; make_making). • Si acaban en –ie, cambiamos esas dos letras y ponemos una y antes de poner –ing. (die_dying; lie_lying). • Los monosílabos terminados en 1 vocal + 1 consonante doblan esta última antes de añadir –ing. (sit_sitting; run_running). • Los bisílabos terminados en 1 vocal + 1 consonante y pronunciados como palabra aguda doblan la consonante antes de añadir –ing, pero si el acento cae en la última sílaba,no.( begin_beginning; refer_referring). • Los que terminan en –y –w o –x nunca doblan esa letra final (stay_staying; snow_snowing; fix_fixing).

  • 5. Interrogative ? Am-are-is+ subject+ verb+ing ? ? V x Am I Yes, I am No, I’m not Are you speaking Yes, You are No, You aren’t Is he/she/it reading Yes, He/she/it is No, He/she/it isn’t Are we eating Yes, We are No, We aren’t Are you Yes, You are No, You aren’t Are they Yes, The are No, They aren’t
  • 6. •Usamos el presente continuo para cosas que estan ocurriendo en ese mismo momento o en un presente más amplio. •Afirmativa: se forma con el verbo to be(am,is,are) + el verbo principal con – ing • Negative: añadimos not a am, pero is y are podemos añadirles not o la contraccion n’t . •Interrogativa: empiezan con am, is o are despues va el sujeto y luego el verbo terminado en –ing. •Respuestas breves: se forman con yes o no y sujecto y el verbo to be.
