    Notes on slide 1

Copernicus is a prominent impact crater locates on the eastern Oceanus Procellarum. The crater is estimated to be about 800 million years old, the time marking the start of the Copernican era in the Lunar geologic timescale. Due to it’s relative youth, the crater has received little erosion and it remains sharp and well defined.
