  2. 2. Simple sentence:• A simple sentence is one sentence on its own.• The sentence must have a verb and a subject.• Always remember a capital letter and a full stop.• The trees blew in the wind.
  3. 3. Compound sentence:• A compound sentence is 2 separate sentences joined together by a connective.• Again, each sentence must have a subject and a verb so that it each sentence makes sense on its own.• The trees blew in the wind but the river remained calm.
  4. 4. Complex sentences: A complex sentence is one sentence joined to a clause. The clause does not make sense on its own. Complex sentences should also have commas. There are two ways to make a complex sentence:1. Dropped in clause The trees, which had been still for most of the day, blew in the wind.2. Starting with a verb or adverb Swaying gently, the trees creaked in the wind.
