1. 1. Perfomance Analysis A Presentation on Performance Analysis By..... Mark Forrest Performance Analyst
 2. 2. “ Performance Analysis is a key functional tool for providing the coach with information about a team and/or individual performance. The feedback then made available to the players can be relevant, accurate and objective rather than unreliable and subjective” Ian Franks, 1996 Perfomance Analysis
 3. 3. Essentially Performance Analysis is about creating a valid and reliable record of performance by means of systematic observations that can be analysed with a view to facilitating change. Perfomance Analysis
 4. 4. What is Performance Analysis Used For...... Perfomance Analysis Opposition Motivation Tactical Education Pre-Game Full Time Feedback Half Time Feedback During-Game Player De-brief Unit De-brief Team De-brief Short-Term Post-Game Trends Research Team Audits Player Audits Long-Term Post-Game
 5. 5. What Performance Analysis is NOT Used For...... THIS IS NOT A TOOL OF BLAME! Perfomance Analysis

Perfomance Analysis Training ground culture

Working as a TEAM & an INDIVIDUAL is very important

Do NOT talk about things or share an opinion about somebody or something that does not concern yourself

Listen to your supervisor and do whatever they ask for

Working hours not neccessarily the normal 9-5. Depending on work load. MUST be finished for the coach to view before the match day

 11. 11.

Relaxed working atmosphere

Must always be on track with work and getting all done

Prioritising the most important, immediate work first

Work quickly and to a very high standard

Completing requests from all players and staff if anything is required

Perfomance Analysis

 13. 13. A. Billard P. Roe J. Chapell 3 J. Slew 2 H. Maguire 5 C. Brown S. Murray N. Foster C. Gregory 6 11 1 4 K. James 9 7 8 M. Darlow 10
 14. 14. P. Johnson 2 nd year, tall, slim, right footed. Solid defensively. Looks to attack positively in the air. Reads game well in deep cover, but genuine lack of pace when exposed down channels. Simple passes. 5 10 C. Martin 2 nd year, medium height, right footed. Busy and industrious in his play. Will look to run with the ball and attack in final third. Good delivery from wide if given time. 1 G. Herbert 2 nd year, medium height. Kicks right footed, hitting long to his front men. Alert and agile, does not command his area and lacks presence. Close down on back passes, dwells on his deliveries. D. Johnson 1 st year, medium height and build. Looks to come off marker and link play. Struggles to find space and attempts on goal. 7 11 B. Blackwood 2 nd year, medium height, two footed. Keeps the shape and tracks back well. Will look to push into final third. Can cross with both feet, on the run or wide if given time. D. Pervis 2 nd year, tall, right footed. Sound defensively; covers and closes down effectively. Passes safely to supporting players. 2 J. Richards 1 st year, medium height, right footed. Sits in midfield, plays it simple, works hard. 4 A. Wakefield 2 nd year, medium height and build, right footed. Aggressive in play. Challenges strongly in the air. Holds off defenders when receiving to feet. Looks to attack positively in final third, getting shooting opportunities. Works the line and imposes himself. 9 J. Dukes Tall and slim, left footed. When on the ball, looks to play early down the left flank. Lacks genuine pace and not strong 1 v 1. Get at him. T. Marron 2 nd year, tall, strong build. Right footed, solid defensively. Attacks ball directly at him, looks to clear early. Get down the sides to turn him and ask questions of him. C. Liddle 2 nd year, medium height, right footed. Looks to get on the ball and dictate from back to front. Neat an tidy, good passing if given space. Will look to push up with front two. Gets team playing. 6 3 8
