Contract Plan
Buy a BlackBerry Service Plan on your Postpaid account such that your SIM becomes BlackBerry Service Enabled
Sourcing File
Download the BB Connect Client “.SIS” File from Nokia Web Site
Note : Download appropriate BBC Client which is compatible to the Firmware version on the device
Check Firmware – “*#0000#” on the device home screen
Install File
Double-click the .SIS file. You will be prompted to “Install the application on the phone”. Choose ‘Yes’
On the Nokia device - “Install BlackBerry?”, choose “Yes”.
Follow the instructions on the device to complete the installation
You will receive now notification on the Nokia device - “Installation Complete”
Activating Email Accounts
Go To Vodafone web site www.Vodafone.blackberry.com and follow installation process stated at the site to activate your office and personal email account on to your mobile device.

Nokia BlackBerry Connect Client Download http://businesssoftware.nokia.com/blackberry_downloads.php Ensure the ROM is compatible before selecting the client version Select region and carrier as *Other BlackBerry Connect Desktop Release notes and user guides

Turning BlackBerry Service “On”
While at the home screen, choose the envelope icon (to bring up the "messaging" menu).
Choose Options (using the button with the blue stripe)
Choose Settings
Choose E-mail , then BlackBerry .
Change the option for BlackBerry service to
“ On” by pressing the joystick
Choose back and exit to homescreen
You should eventually see a new BlackBerry icon indicating that BlackBerry Connect is running on the device

FAQ:
1) How does a Customer get BlackBerry Connect?
There are three ways for a Customer to obtain the BlackBerry Connect Client :
from Carrier’s or Nokia/SonyE website for download
on a CD in the box
pre-installed in the device extended ROM
There are two ways for a Customer to obtain the BlackBerry Connect Desktop software :
from Carrier’s or Nokia/SonyE website for download
on a CD in the box
2a) The device shows that BlackBerry Service is “Not Connected” and cannot be “Restarted”
a) Confirm that the device is approved for BlackBerry Connect
b) Confirm that the SIM provisioned with BlackBerry services by checking with your Carrier
c) Turn the device off, remove the battery, re-insert the battery and turn the device on again; go to BlackBerry Settings and turn service off and back on
2b) The device shows that BlackBerry Service is “Suspended by user”
a) This can occur if the user chooses to Suspend service or when the radio has suspended service because of another application (i.e. Internet Browser)
b) Turn the device off, remove the battery, re-insert the battery and turn the device on again; go to BlackBerry Settings and turn service off and back on

FAQ: (cont.)
3) I cannot send or receive email.
- Re-register device with BlackBerry network.
- Confirm that BlackBerry service is Connected and the ‘BlackBerry Connect’ icon is on the Home screen
- Check that there is a CMIME Service Book on the device
- Ask your IT Admin whether there are any email server issues
- Delete the CMIME Service Book* and re-provision you provisioned the device to your corporate BES account * Note: This will delete the BlackBerry mailbox and all emails from the device
4) My calendar entries are not synchronized.
- Confirm that BlackBerry service is Connected and the ‘BlackBerry Connect’ icon is on the Home screen
- Check that there is a CICAL Service Book on the device
- Delete the CICAL Service Book*, re-provision the device against your corporate BES account and perform a Calendar Bulk-load
- * Note: This will delete all BlackBerry calendar entries from the device.
5) Emails on my desktop are not deleted or synchronized with those on the handheld.
- Go to BlackBerry Settings and check that
wireless reconciliation is enabled

7) What attachments formats are supported?
- The BlackBerry Connect Attachment Viewer can be used to view the following attachment types –

- The BlackBerry Connect v2.1 Attachment Viewer does not support image viewing
- For SonyE and Windows Mobile devices, you will need to download the image first
9) I cannot synchronize Contacts, Tasks or Note
- BlackBerry Connect v2.1 does not support Contacts and Tasks sync
- Contact, Task (WM only) and Notes (WM only) sync is support with BlackBerry Connect v4.0

10) After installing the BBC client on my device, nothing happens
- BlackBerry Connect must be activated after it is installed:
For Nokia E-series: Main Menu > BlackBerry Folder > Settings
For Sony Ericsson: Control Panel > BlackBerry
For Windows Mobile: Start > Settings > System > BlackBerry
11) BlackBerry Connect is disconnected when surfing the Internet
- On devices and networks that do not support multiple ‘PDP Contexts’ (Packet Data Protocol), only one data connection is allowed.
- In this case, BlackBerry Connect is disconnected and will re-connect after Internet application is closed.
12) File attachments between 30 – 60 KB cannot be downloaded or uploaded
- This is a fault on the BES and BIS and will be corrected in future releases.
- Only Sony Ericsson and Windows Mobile devices support native attachment download and upload
13) Does the BlackBerry Connect client work on any Sony Ericsson, Nokia or Windows Mobile device?
- No, only authorized combinations of hardware-&-software will work.

- Service Books are “certificates” that are required for the device and the BES and BIS to complete specific functions
- The following Service Books are supported on BlackBerry Connect devices:

BlackBerry [CMIME] – for Email Sync

With BlackBerry Connect v4.0, the following additional Service Books are supported (among others):

- A maximum of between 500 and 600 emails can be received in the BlackBerry mailbox on the device.
- After this occurs, the oldest emails will be removed from the device but not from the Email Server.
