Why I never bug my friends and family and still have tons of
prospects to talk to!
One of the first things every network marketer is told to do when they
sign up is make a list of their family and friends. This method of calling
everyone that you’ve ever met is nothing new to the network
marketing industry.
Now I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t so keen on the idea of calling
my co-workers, neighbors, cousins, hair stylist or dog groomer and
trying to get them involved in a home based business.

So I started trying to find ways to get the word out about my business
without bugging everyone I had ever met. A lot of people told me that
if I didn’t make my list I was doomed to fail.
One of the main reasons people are so big on the idea of calling
people you already know is because it is free. So I wanted to find a
way that would allow me to still reach a good amount of people and at
the same time not spend too much money. After all when you’re first
starting out in a home based business you probably don’t have a huge
advertising budget.
So I started getting some information on internet marketing. What I
found is that almost all internet marketing is free… or very cheap.
What I also found is that unlike calling a list of my family and friends
internet marketing allowed me to find people who were actually
interested in working from home and get them to call me!
By using techniques like: Craigslist, Wordpress, Ezinearticles,
Forums, and Myspace I could get targeted traffic to my business
website and actually have people begging me to sign up… not the
other way around!
Now believe me I am not saying that you should be a secret agent
and hide your business from the people around you. By all means
share it! However, when you already have plenty of prospects picking
up the phone and calling you or visiting your website you will be free
to share your business without desperately needing them to sign up.
Think of it this way, if you were going to open a restaurant you’d tell
your friends and family right? But you probably wouldn’t call them 5
times a day, and beg them to come eat there. It’s the same thing with
your home based business.

Your entire posture will change when you realize the power of what
you have. You’re not bothering people you’re simply offering them
something that most people want or need. You are doing them a favor.
Start learning how to generate free prospects online using internet
marketing and I know that your business will never be the same again.
You’ll start talking to more people and your friends might just start
picking up the phone when you call again!
