Quick Introduction to Axis 360

  1. 1. Quick Intro to Axis 360 The Axis 360 software has 3 main browsing tabs and a search box. Each section is described below. Magic Wall - Showcases the most popular digital titles owned by the library. It displays 36 titles, and every few seconds one of the titles spins around to display another title in the collection. Hover the cursor over a cover to get a box with the title, availability and check out ability. Further subdivided in: • Just Added – new titles added to the collection • Most Popular – most checked out titles • Hidden Gems – titles with low check out activity • Recently Returned – recent checked in titles • List View – displays as a list of titles instead of showing the covers only App Zone – Download links to the Blio (eBooks) and Acoustik (audio books) apps. You can also download Adobe Digital Editions or sign up for an Adobe ID (ePUB and PDF). Browse by Subject – Pick a subject you are interested in and drill down to titles that way. Search – Search works well with keywords, not just titles or authors. The left side of the screen also allows searching for titles in particular areas of the library’s collection (facets): 1|Page January 25, 2014 - Arencibia

  3. 3. Check Out a Book! Click on a book’s cover to access the Book Detail page. Select your preferred format (Blio, ePUB, PDF). Choose whether to Add to Checkout List , Checkout Now , or Add to Wish List . If the book is currently checked out there a button to place a hold displays. If you choose Add to Checkout List , the title is held in My Checkout List at the top of the page. You have 15 minutes to check out the title before it expires. Click on the shopping cart when you are ready. If using this option instead of Checkout Now , you will be able to adjust the checkout period for each title. Click Confirm Checkout . If you are not logged in yet, enter your library card. You’ll be asked to log in with your Blio account (or create one – you will need your library card, PIN, and an e-mail address). Titles in Blio format will be delivered to your Blio app. The next time your device is connected to the Internet, it will download the title to the app. Titles in ePUB/PDF formats display a download link. A file of extension .acsm will be downloaded to your computer or app. Before you are able to read these titles you need to download Adobe Digital Editions and/or authorize a device with an Adobe ID. My Account Displays your library card number, name and e-mail address as well as the login information for the Blio and Acoustik apps. My Lists After clicking the My Lists link in the upper right menu, the default Items on Loan will appear. Change list view by clicking on the appropriate list in the navigation menu on the left side of the screen to access these (active view is highlighted in blue): • • • Checkout List Hold Queue Items on Loan 3|Page January 25, 2014 - Arencibia
