  • UMAT Closing date (Friday 5th June), Late registrations (Friday 19th June), and actual test date (Wednesday 29th July)
UMAT score is overall score – this year 61 (take top 500 for interview) + 100 on Dean’s rural list
Monash or the faculty does not endorse any private preparation courses for UMAT. ACER runs preparation courses – this is the only we can mention
250 places for local, 50 for international in 2010
No preference given to students doing VCE Biology
  • Reminder that students taking a ‘gap year’ cannot commence any form of tertiary studies (even one unit) if they are considering applying for this course the following year, as they will no longer be eligible.
  • Need GPA of at least 5 in a bachelor’s degree.
GAMSAT is a science based test (very different to UMAT) – includes Biology, Physics, Chemistry and looks at written communication skills via essay writing.
  • Can become a psychologist if you do the right combination of psychology units, and if you complete honours.
  • Promote as a very appropriate degree, especially if interested in graduate medicine
  • Promote as a very appropriate degree, especially if interested in graduate medicine
  • Need to do this degree if specifically interested in Midwifery. Cannot do B. Nursing and become a midwife and vica versa, ie. B. Midwifery does not qualify you to be a registered nurse.
  • Can transfer from another health science related course into Physio after one year – will look at GPA, UMAT score and all applicants will be interviewed.
  • NB Graduates would require extra study and training to be qualified to practice as a psychologist
  • VCE expo
This is a huge expo where you can get info on all tertiary options. It is held at the Caulfield racecourse and is a great chance to get some ideas on what uni can offer you. All Monash faculties will be represented at the expo.
At Monash seminars Each faculty at Monash holds its own info seminar, you can talk to current students and hear what our graduates have to say about studying at Monash.
Open dayTake the opportunity to check out the campus’ in person.
Change of preferenceThis is your last chance to talk to course advisers and get info before you lodge your final preferences
