LESSON PLAN
Course: 4th grade
Communicative goal: expressing likes and dislikes
Grammatical goal: I like/I don’t like...
Vocabulary focus: food and drink
Recycled language: colours.
Activation (5 min)
T will ask Sts what their favourite colour and food is. They will discuss why, Sts will be
allowed to speak in Spanish. This is to activate Sts’ previous knowledge.
Comprehension and clarification (10 min)
T will stick on the board word cards with different colours, food and drinks. T will ask Sts
to guess the meaning of the new words, then she will ask Sts to read them one by one to
check pronunciation. T will do a quick drawing for the Sts to check their predictions.
Then T will start saying:
T: my favourite food is the fish and chips. I like fish and chips! What’s your favourite food,
Nicolás?
Nicolás: Pizza.
T: so, your favourite food is pizza. You like pizza!
Nicolás: Yes!!
T will follow the same procedure with some Sts so as to clarify the meaning of “like”.

Description: T will say a word and Sts will have to make up the sentence. For ex:

Reflection (10 min)
Sts will have to draw two or three of their favourite food, including some elements of the
word flashcards. After this, they will exchange drawings to know the likes and dislikes of
their partners.
