GENERAL WEATHER IN WINTERIn winter the weather ismild.It sometimes rains or thesky is cloudy. It rarelysnows and usually ininterior places, like ithappened last week (1stphoto). But when springcomes the temperaturesare higher, 20º to 30º inthe day.
MURCIA IN SUMMERIn summer it´s veryhot. We can havearound 40ºC andeven more at midday.The monthlyaverages in June,July, August andSeptember areabove 21 º C.
The “Mar Menor”:The Minor Sea is a lagoon or a saltwater lagoon ofthe Mediterranean Sea, located in the Region ofMurcia, in Spain. This is the largest lagoon in Spainand has environmental values to be protected as tourism is its main economic activity.
La Manga:La Manga del Mar Menor is a coastal strip of 21 kmlong that extends from Cabo de Palos to thenatural park of Las Salinas in San Javier.
Cabo de Palos:It is located in themunicipality of Cartagena inthe Murcian region. Thetown of Cabo de Palos,originally a fishing village, isnow primarily a resort townknown for its gastronomy(particularly for his"caldero", a local recipemade with rice and fish ofthe area, particularly mere)and a destination for diving.
San Pedro del Pinatar: San Javier is a Spanish municipality in the Region of Murcia. Located on the shores of the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor. North of town is the natural park of Las Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar.
Salinas of San Pedro del Pinatar: The Salinas y Arenales de San Javier is a protected area of the Region of Murcia. It is a wetland with sand located in the northern part of the Mar Menor. Inside the protected area there is a port and salt mines in operation. In summer the beaches are quite crowded, and there is a tradition of mud baths.
