They are called the new seven wonders of the world.They are the monuments that won an internationalcompetition conducted by a private company namedNew Open World Corporation, and inspired by the listof the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World Countries that host the New Seven Wonders of the modern world.
  • 2. 1st: MACHU PICCHUMachu Picchu is an ancient Andean village built in the mid-fifteenth century. It was used as a religious shrine.
  • 3. On July 7, 2007 Machu Picchu was declared as oneof the new seven wonders of the modern world It is located in southern Peru at an altitude of 2,438 meters
  • 4. 2nd: CHICHÉN ITZÁChichen Itza is a Mayan city founded around 525 AD as one of the most important political centers of the time Chichén Itzá inside
  • 5. It was declared a wonder of the world on July 7, 2007 It is located on the peninsula of Yucatan, Mexico
  • 6. 3rd: COLISEUM OF ROMEThe Coliseum is an amphitheater of the Roman Empire period, built in the first centuryThe Coliseum was used for gladiator fights, hunting animals or simulations of naval battles
  • 7. Inside the Coliseum today The Coliseum is located in the center of the city of Rome, Italy, receiving a year about 6 million visits
  • 8. 4th: CHRIST THE REDEEMERThe Christ the Redeemer statue is a 38-meter image of Jesus of Nazareth with open arms facing the city and port of Rio de Janeiro
  • 9. It was inaugurated on October 12, 1931. Is considered one of the largest statues in the world. Receives 700,000 visits a year Is located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on an altitude of 709 meters above sea level
  • 10. 5th: PETRAPetra is an important archaeological site. It is a city built, carved and sculpted in stone Petra Inside
  • 11. Founded towards the end of seventh centuryA.C. and chosen as a wonder of the world in2007. It was a religious sanctuary, political andcultural. It’s located in Jordan, 200 km south of its capital, Amman
  • 12. 6th: TAJ MAHALThe Taj Mahal is a complex of buildings built between 1631 and 1654 in the city of Agra by an emperor in memory of his favorite wife, which is buried. Taj Mahal inside
  • 13. Is one of the major tourist attractions in India, receiving about 7,000,000 visitors a year. It is located in the city of Agra, India
  • 14. 7th: THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA The Great Wall of China is an ancient fortress built in the V century a.C to protect the northern border of the Chinese empireIs estimated to be 8851.8 km long, although to date only retains 30% of it.Approximately 10 million workers died during construction
  • 15. It is said that the wall is visible from space, buthas been shown to be false The wall runs across northern China from east to west
