Nuclear Weapons - Presentation Transcript

  1. Nuclear weapons By Bailey and Tzigane
  2. Bailey’s Thoughts
  3. Nuclear weapons are very dangerous!
    • Nuclear weapons are very dangerous. The uranium can get into the skin and do serious damage to your blood, cells and organs. Even worse it can kill you.
    •
    • The detonation of a nuclear weapon would totally wipe out entire countries and hundreds of thousands of people would die, in only a few seconds.
  4. How many people have the Weapons?
    • Surprisingly, even though we know all the facts, nine countries still have nuclear weapons. Those countries are France, Pakistan, Israel, Russia, China, USA, North Korea, UK and India.
  5. Hiroshima A bomb
    • Today’s Nuclear weapons are 20,000 times stronger then the Hiroshima A bomb. The death toll from the explosion and the fallout of that bomb was 200,000 deaths over a number of weeks and months. The black acid rain killed people weeks after the explosion.
  6. I think………
    • I’m only 11 and I want to live my life to the full. We need to abolish nuclear weapons for us to be able to do that safely. As a beginning point, we need to get the nuclear weapons off high alert. At least then, there is less likelihood of an accidental bombing. After that, the countries need to get together and discuss abolishing these devastating weapons altogether.
    •
    • If kids can think like this, why can’t world leaders?
    •

  7. Thoughts Tzigane’s
  8. What is the Future for Nuclear Weapons?
    • Nuclear weapons should be banned. What is the good of them? What is the use of them? Where are they headed…?
  9. What are Nuclear weapons?
    • Nuclear weapons are evil. Evil. They do no good to anyone, harm innocent people and were a tool of war in the 1900’s. Look at the Hiroshima A bomb. 66000 people were killed by ‘Little Boy’ out of a population of 255000 people. 80% of the buildings were destroyed, all at the press of a button, the flick of a switch. So easy to do so many killed. All it takes is a single finger to slip and this could happen again.
    • But with modern technology, 20 000 times stronger than Little Boy, these bombs could kill many, many more…
    • And that is why nuclear weapons should be destroyed. Not just taken off high alert, but fully destroyed. Just imagine the horror, the pain, and the grief caused by nuclear weapons. Thousands dead, many more injured. I cannot fully imagine the powerful sadness of it all, but let’s not make that imagination become reality.
    • So I am talking to you, France, Israel, Pakistan, China, Russia, USA, UK, North Korea, India and anyone else out there that is for nuclear weapons. And remember,
    • I can, you can, we can abolish nuclear weapons.
