    1. Australian Federation By Katie, Chloe, Grace and Tzigane.
    2. Some Facts
      • Six colonies formed Australia: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
      • They tried to bring Federation in the 1850’s and 1860’s but there was no popular support for it.
      • Australia became a Federation on 1 st January, 1901.
      • Fiji and New Zealand were originally going to be part of the Federation, but they both decided not to.
      • Sir Edmund Barton was the first Prime Minister for Australia.
      • Australia is the biggest island that is also the one country. It is the smallest continent.
