    Plan (IPDP)
  • 2. Why must we have Individual Professional Development Plans?
    Florida Statute 1012.98 (4)(b)(5) School Community Professional Development Act
    Requires each school principal to establish and maintain an individual professional development plan for each instructional employee assigned to the school
  • 3. When must the Individual Professional Development Plan be completed?
    • The IPDP is to be completed within the first
    30 days of the instructional professional’s
    employment at the work location and may be
    revised during the school year as needed
    • Principal approves the initial IPDP
    • 4. The revisions must be mutually agreed upon
    by the instructional professional and the
    principal
  • 5. IPDP Components
    • Student Performance Data
    (specific performance data for the students that are assigned to the
    teacher)
    - Disaggregated classroom-level student achievement data
    - Data from School Improvement Plan
     IPEGS annual evaluation results from previous year
    • Training Objectives (What are the objectives of the PD that the
    teacher will be participating in that meets the needs of his/he students?)
    • Professional Development Activities
    • 6. Evaluation on the effectiveness of the IPDP
  • How are training needs identified?
    (Identification of Objectives)
    • The needs of the students assigned to the
    teacher drive the Individual Professional
    Development Plan (IPDP).
    • What specific measurable improvements
    are expected in student achievement as a
    result of the training activity?
  • 7. What is considered professional development?
    (Professional Development Activities)
    Professional Development Activities may include:
    • Workshop(s) /seminar(s)
    • 8. On-line courses
    • 9. Professional Learning Communities
    • 10. Action Research
    • 11. Book Study
    • 12. College courses
    The dates and activities must be recorded on the IPDP if available
  • 13. What is included in the evaluation component ?
    (Evaluation )
    The following four questions must be answered:
     Were the training objectives met? If not, why not and what are the
    follow up plans?
     What was mastered and implemented by the teacher as a result
    of the professional development activities?
     What were the changes in the educator’s professional
    practice as a result of the professional learning activities?
     What was the impact of the professional development
    on the student achievement?
  • 14. Individual Professional Development Plan
    • A copy of each teacher’s IPDP must be approvedby
    the principal and retained in the teacher’s personnel file
    The IPDP can be revised and updated during the year
    as needed.
    • The IPDP has no official weighting in IPEGS; however, it
    can be used by the teacher as supporting
    documentation for Standard 7: Professionalism.
