  2. 2. OBJECTIVE (S)<br />You will be able to:<br />conjugate regular verbs inerin present tense.Form the negative asking questions<br />
  3. 3. French Regular -ER Verbs<br /><ul><li>There are 5 main kinds of French verbs: ER, IR, RE, stem-changing, and irregular.
  4. 4. Once you've learned the rules of conjugation for each of the first three kinds of verbs, you should have no problem conjugating regular verbs in each of those categories.
  5. 5. This lesson is on ER verbs, which are the first most common category.</li></li></ul><li>Les verbesréguliers en er au présent<br />Most verbs in French end in er (chanter =to sing, travailler = to work, nager = to swim) this form of the verb is called the infinitive.<br />The stem or radical of the verb is the infinitive minus the er (example: parler – er = parl). <br />
  6. 6. Different endings are added to the stem for each subject.<br />Infinitive of the verb Parler – to talk<br />I<br />You (sing. informal<br />he/she<br />we<br />You ( Pl. Formal)<br /> They<br />

Manger = to eat</li></li></ul><li>La nÉgation<br />To make a sentence negative, simply put the word ne before the verb and the word pas after the verb<br />Example: Jeparlefrançais(I speak French, or I am speaking French.)<br />Je neparlepasfrançais(I do not speak French. Or I am not speaking French)<br />
