How to Develop A
Humorous Mindset

 Build a portfolio of jokes; collect
them from magazines,
newspaper, Internet and books
which have been written as joke
books.

 Put a joke of the week on the
fridge. Then every time you look
at it, you and your family will
laugh.

 Encourage the family to compose
jokes. This can create much fun
and merriment.
 Have a family joke sharing night.
Everyone shares a joke, one they
have heard or one they have
made up themselves.

 Go to a Laughter Workshop. Many
places now have laughter
workshops; find out where the
closest to attend. Laughter
releases endorphins which give us
a feeling of wellbeing; pretend
laughter has the same result.

 When upset by a colleague or
boss visualise the person nude
and sitting on the toilet. This
stance reduces everyone to the
same common denominator.
 The result is a feeling of
wellbeing, a release of tension
and a feeling of humour.

 View mistakes, mishaps or
anything annoying as learning
experience and try to put a
humorous slant on them.

 Use humour as an aid to memory
by visualizing what you have to
remember as funny. Exaggerate
size by making a funny image eg
to remember butter, visualize a
huge container of butter walking
down the road on four wonky
legs.
 Write and/or say affirmations
such as, “Life is a fun adventure.”
