Avizieniai gymnasium

  2. 2.  Avižieniai basic school was founded in 1964. The students were taught in three languages: Lithuanian, Polish, Russian.  A new school building was opened in 1979.  The basic school was reorganized into the secondary school in 1998.
  3. 3.  Today students are taught in two languages, Lithuanian and Polish. There are 208 students taught in Lithuanian and 120 students learning all subjects in Polish.  Valerija Orševska has been the school headmistress since 2003.  The school offers special educational, psychological and social assistance to students who require it, provided by a qualified psychologist, a social worker, a speech therapist, in collaboration with teachers.
