About
An assistant professor at a state university, Margaret Ann Dimond has conducted research on hospital administration and hospital-physician relationships. One major area of Margaret Ann Dimond’s research, conducted in cooperation with Henry Ford Hospital, featured physician focus groups. In studying these groups and spending time with the doctors, Ms. Dimond affirmed previous findings that doctors were not satisfied in their jobs. More importantly, however, she also determined that administrative failure to prioritize patient care and lack of empowerment played a key role in discouraging physicians from working in a hospital instead of an outside practice.
