5. WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE ?
Chiropractic health focuses on disorders of the
musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Chiropractic
care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal
complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain,
pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.
The most common therapeutic procedure performed by
doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation,” also
called “chiropractic adjustment.” The purpose of
manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying
a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or
restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury.
6. FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE
Dr. Davis is also a board certified internist.
Through functional medicine, Dr. Davis can take a
unique look at a person’s structural standpoint as well
as a systems evaluation.
A chiropractic internist is able to evaluate and treat
the patient with not only manipulation, but with
orthomolecular nutrition and lifestyle changes as well.
This care offers beneficial results to each individual
without the use of drugs or surgery.

10. NERVOUS SYSTEM
3 Parts
1) Brain - Cortex (top, largest part of brain)
- Cerebellum (back, lower part of brain)
- Brain Stem (underneath upper cervical)
2) Spinal Cord, which is located inside spine and
connects brain to nerves.
3) Spinal Nerves: There are 31 pairs of spinal
nerves and everything has a nerve supply
12. FACTS ABOUT THE SPINE
The spine has 24 movable bones called vertebra (it is the frame
that protects the spinal cord) which are separated by movable
cushioned disc.
Misalignment in the spine causes nerve irritation.
Most spinal problems are worse than they should be due to
neglect.
Phases of care for the spine include:
- Acute onset …………………….. …………3-5 times a week
- Correct, stabilize and strengthen ….. 1-3 times a week
- Maintenance & prevention……………1 time each month
22. WHY MAINTENANCE?
Chiropractic Care is beneficial for all ages
Children under Chiropractic Care use fewer antibiotics and
have lower incidence of disease
Immunity is improved by correcting subluxation in the
neck
Pregnant women under Chiropractic Care have easier
pregnancies and deliveries
Chiropractic Care can improve PMS, irritability, tension,
mental function, eating habits, sexual drive, social
impairment and overall physical health
Loss of joint function can cause arthritis
23. MAINTENANCE HELPS …
Improve Rheumatoid Arthritis
To potentially reverse disc degeneration and spinal
osteoarthritis
To reduce anxiety
Improve forward head position (FHP) associated with
fibromyalgia
To reduce inflamed nerves
Treat headaches and neck pain
Relieve spinal pain better than anti-inflammatory drugs
To potentially reverse disc herniation
To Improve good posture, which improves hormone
production, respiration, energy and concentration
To maintain mobility in elderly patients
24. What You Can Do To Improve Your Health

Editor's Notes
This template can be used as a starter file for presenting training materials in a group setting.SectionsRight-click on a slide to add sections. Sections can help to organize your slides or facilitate collaboration between multiple authors.NotesUse the Notes section for delivery notes or to provide additional details for the audience. View these notes in Presentation View during your presentation. Keep in mind the font size (important for accessibility, visibility, videotaping, and online production)Coordinated colors Pay particular attention to the graphs, charts, and text boxes.Consider that attendees will print in black and white or grayscale. Run a test print to make sure your colors work when printed in pure black and white and grayscale.Graphics, tables, and graphsKeep it simple: If possible, use consistent, non-distracting styles and colors.Label all graphs and tables.
Give a brief overview of the presentation. Describe the major focus of the presentation and why it is important.Introduce each of the major topics. To provide a road map for the audience, you can repeat this Overview slide throughout the presentation, highlighting the particular topic you will discuss next.
This is another option for an Overview slides using transitions.
Summarize presentation content by restating the important points from the lessons. What do you want the audience to remember when they leave your presentation?Save your presentation to a video for easy distribution (To create a video, click the File tab, and then click Share. Under File Types, click Create a Video.)
Use a section header for each of the topics, so there is a clear transition to the audience.
Add slides to each topic section as necessary, including slides with tables, graphs, and images. See next section for sampletable, graph, image, and video layouts.
Keep it brief. Make your text as brief as possible to maintain a larger font size.
Add a case study or class simulation to encourage discussion and apply lessons.
