  • 3. The frog found in Malta and Gozo is known as the Mediterranean Maltese Painted Frog.
  • 4. This animal is an amphibian. It has colourful markings and is usually olive-brown in colour with large dark spots.
  • 5. Its belly is whitish. The body is stout with a flat wide head.
  • 6. The pupil in its eyes is shaped like an upside-down droplet.
  • 7. The Mediterranean Maltese Painted Frog is common in damp areas near water, in open landscapes, in orchards and vineyards, as well as on campsites.
