3. Findings and feedback
MT Output Evaluation
Web interface developed by PangeaMT has proved reliable
and easy to use
Raw quality of the translations was very good (BLEU +50%)
Files have been reviewed internally: very positive feedback
Some of the files were reviewed by an independent third
party vendor, VistaTEC, and were scored based on LISA QA
model
Feedback of the independent review was positive, with
comments such as “Good quality” and “Very good quality,
sounds fresh and natural.”

4. Areas for improvement
Further developments
Turnaround times are now in line with normal translation
times: MT+PE times must be better measured to evaluate
possible gains
Sometimes format has to be sorted manually and this
affects the efficiency of the process
So far the MT engine has not been retrained

MT is “on air” and gathering momentum
• MT has proved to be an effective solution, the MT+PE workflow is getting positive
feedback and we have to build on this success to deploy a bigger solution that will
bring more benefits
Spreading the good news within Sony
• Evangelize other Sony divisions on the advantages of MT using data collected
during FY11

manual steps considerably at the clients’ end
• Engine training still held in open-standard TMX-based framework to ensure data

• Client Terminology had already been taken into account in DEV+IMPL+TEST
phases
• Now the User CAN upload a Glossary of 1-1 Equivalences (including DNTs)
increase human-machine interaction!
