    1. 1. Michael Manni PET 673
    2. 2.  Digital cameras and film cameras such as the “35mm” use the same technical theory of recording still photography by focusing light onto a image pickup device.  Digital Camera- light onto an electronic pickup  Film- light onto a pickup that is chemical  SLR vs. Point and Shoot
    3. 3. Teacher Use Student Use Assessment Observe and analyze movement Monitoring performance Peer assessment Supplement demonstrations/instructions Immediate Feedback Id students Group projects/peer work
    4. 4.  Still Image 200-350shots  Record Movie  Zoom  Autofocus  LCD display  Self-Timer  Navigation Circle  Panoramic  Slow-Motion  Flash  Resolution  Movie Editing  Stitch
    5. 5.  Variable costs- new, used, donated, funded, budgeted, depending on brand, product features  Quality- My recommendation, more durable, better features, pay more but you get more “miles” Class of 30: $100.00 per unit average=3,000.00 + accessories
    6. 6.  The “Instant” generation- Instant Feedback…  (Developing, Polaroid, One-hour, upload/dl)  Easy to carry  Storage (SD cards can allow for lots of memory)  Accessories are affordable  Good quality still shots and recordings  Movie recording/editing capabilities (HD)  LCD displays, touch screens, easy manuals
    7. 7.  Smart Phones and i technologies are digi cams biggest competitors. Similar features are found on personal phones and tablets  Durability on some, memory capability can be limited, energy systems (Batteries and dolphins…lithium ion battery You tube, how to make a solar powered camera “pas”  Adjustments to images on other devices

    9. 9.  Station 1-SLOW DOWN- Use slow motion function with a partner while recording the Backhand Frisbee throw. This will be a recording!  Station 2-YOGA BEAR- Use still shot function to capture static balances. Partner will take still shot. After, we can print some good shots on the portable digital photo printer.  Station 3- TICK TOCK- Use self-timer function when alone. 10 seconds to catch your take-off or flight phase of Broad Jump
