Who is a Contributor ?  Contributors have both human values as well as functional effectiveness – They get the job done, but also do it the ‘right way’.  They have an attitude of ‗creating value‘ in the job – ―When I go there, what value am I creating? Am I just ‗doing‘ or am I ‗creating value‘?‖ That kind of question that comes to their mind.  They are not instruction-oriented, but solution-oriented. They find solutions rather than simply take instructions or blindly follow processes.  Contributors have a deeper and wider definition of success than the non-contributors.
  3. What is Contribution ?  The common meaning of contribution is the part played by a person in bringing about the result. Contribution is the act of a person for the success of the team/company as well as for improving his/her personal capabilities, personal fulfillment etc.  The scope of contribution refers to the extension of the contribution provided by an individual to the team/organization, self, or the society.  The possibilities of contribution by an individual: – To Self – To Team/Organization – To Society/Country

  5. Biography Full Name: Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar Born: 24 April 1973, Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra Parents: Ramesh Tendulkar, Rajni Tendulkar Major Teams: India, Mumbai, Yorkshire, ACC Asian XI.
  6. About Him  Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is an Indian cricketer widely acknowledged as one of the greatest batsmen in the world.  Born with natural talent of Cricket, he is now the star of the world Cricket, more like "the God of Cricket"  Born in Mumbai into a middle-class family, Sachin Tendulkar was named after his family‘s favorite music director Sachin Dev Burman.  Sachin Tendulkar married Anjali, a daughter of Gujarati industrialist Anand Mehta. They have two children, Sara and Arjun.  Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan in Karachi in November 1989 aged just 16 years and 223 days.  Also he made his debut against Pakistan in18 December 1989.

Contribution to self  Sachin Tendulkar has set many records and received many awards for his cricketing skill, particularly in batting.  Below is a list of some of his achievements: National Honours:  Padma Vibhushan, 2008.  Maharashtra Bhushan Award, 2001.  Padma Shri, 1999.  Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, 1997–98.  Arjuna Award,1994. Other Honours:  Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World: 2010.  Player of the tournament in 2003 Cricket World Cup.

Contribution to self(cont..)  Rajiv Gandhi Awards – Sports: 2005.  Wisden Cricketer of the Year: 1997.  'BCCI Cricketer of the Year' award on 31 May 2011.  On 3 September 2010, he was made a Honorary Group captain by the Indian Air Force. Also, he made number of records in Cricket:  Highest run getter in test and ODIs matches  Most number of centuries in Test and ODIs matches  Most number of man of the match and Man of the series awards ODI  Appeared in most number of tests and ODIs And so many records.

Contribution to Teammates  He guide always to his teammates on the field or outside the field.  ―You will matter when it matters the most" are the words that Tendulkar told Yuvraj Singh, which served as an inspiration for the dashing allrounder during India's cricket World Cup 2011.  It will be impossible to replace Sachin Tendulkar: Rahul Dravid, that shows the contribution of sachin towards team.  His contribution is immense. His batting, his experience, the suggestions he can come up with — we‘ll miss all that.‖ – M.S.Dhoni after Tendulkar's retirement.

Contribution to Society/Nation  Tendulkar was a person who would never show any disrespect to the national flag..He respects the national flag most and had even sought permission to use the tricolour on his helmet, It‘s not the riches or the records but the love for the game.  Tendulkar now sponsors 200 underprivileged children every year through a Mumbai-based NGO.  Sachin Tendulkar devoted all of 9-12-hour for Coca-Cola-NDTV Support My School telethon on 18 September 2011 that helped raise 7 crore (2 crore more than the target) for from the creation of basic facilities for girl students, in 140 government schools across the country.

Contribution to Society/Nation(Cont..)  He endorses social advertisements free such as for Polio.  He have financed some NGOs who works against Cancer, Polio and Aids.  Recently he didn‘t charge a single penny for his participation in an awareness campaign encouraging people for census in 2011.  He will make a contribution as a Rajya Sabha member also.  He given his bat for the auction at a glittering sports were it fetched highest bid of Rs. 42 lakh .  He has survived twenty two years in the national team without a pause other than the pauses created in his career due to injuries and sometimes because of his personal wish.
  12. Contribution to Society/Nation(Cont..)  Sachin Tendulkar could have multiplied his income by manifolds if he had accepted the endorsement offer of an alcohol company. Witness the ‗responsible man‘ in him. Tendulkar is a famous cricketer and with this tag he becomes a public figure. As an idol of the cricket lovers he felt the need to refuse the offer made by the alcohol company. It is because idols are usually emulated so endorsing alcohol can‘t be a very positive message to the society. Not only as a cricketer he contributed for the nation but also contributed to the Indian society as a celebrity.  Sachin Tendulkar donated 51 lakhs for uttrakhand flood victims.
  13. What can we learn from Sachin ? 1. The Focus: We have to adopt a bit focused approach to succeed. 2. The Determination: Determination towards your goal, your faith in your goal and objective. 3. The Hunger towards ones passion: who can be better person than sachin to explain and depict the importance of Hunger towards your passion. This is the secret behind his continued success 4. The Crystal Clear Vision: To succeed in life and in your mission you should be a visionary. A confused mind is a kind of restriction in your success.
  14. What can we learn from Sachin ?(Cont..) 5. The Commitment towards your goal: Commitment is really an essential part of life. In study, personal life, relations…I mean everywhere commitment is must. 6. The Humbleness: humbleness is something very necessary for true praise. A person who is not humble in his/her behavior with others --spoils his success sooner or later. 7. Never give Up attitude: Giving up soon is a coward‘s nature. Sachin has a tremendous never give up attitude. This is a major factor which contributed to his success.
