How to file Income Tax ReturnAssessment Year 2013-14 Please follow this simple steps.1. Register your PAN in income tax portal2. Download ITR- 1 in excel for AY 2013-14.3. Fill ITR-14. Generate FVU File5. Upload the return in portal6. Print the intimation and sent to CPC
Register your PAN in incometax portal Open the pagehttps://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/portal/index.do Click into new User – Register and thenIndividual Type your pan in small case and other details Fill the Form having password, securityquestion, date of birth, Name, Father Name,Phone and E mail ID The details should be per PAN CARD Not required in case already registered.
Download ITR- 1 in excel for AY 2013-14 Download the ITR-1 from the followingoption downloadOpen the excel file Please note that ITR 1 is applicable onlyfor person having only Salary & InterestIncome. In case you have other income, thenplease refer the guidelines available in theportal or take appropriate professionalassistance.
Fill ITR-1 SHEET – INCOME DETAILS Enable Macros first Only green marked cell to be fill. Fill your Name, PAN, Address, Date of Birth E mail ID, PhoneNumber etc. Please note the following items1. Return filed under section - 11-BeforeDueDt 139(1)2. Residential Status - RES - Resident3. Income from Salary / Pension (Ensure to fill Sch TDS1) – Asper form 16.4. Income from one House Property – Loss on House Property **5. Income from Other Sources (Ensure to fill Sch TDS2) - BankInterest6. Deductions under Chapter VI A (Section) – Fill amount ofinvestment made under section 80 C, CCF, D etc. (refer Form16)
Fill ITR-1SHEET – TDS. Carefully fill the below details as provided in Form 16.any spelling or amount error will make return incorrect. Fill ITR-1 Please note the details provided in TDS sheet are veryimportant. There should not be any kind oftypographical mistake while filling these . You can also check the correctness of form 16A andForm 16 by view Form 26AS which is available onlineon portal . Just after login go to tab – My account – View Taxcredit statement (Form 26AS). Type your date of birth and then you will be redirectedto Form 26AS. Check your TDS certificates in Form 26AS online andin case any discrepancy is there contact youremployer and bank accordingly.
Fill ITR-1SHEET – TAXES PAID AND VERIFICATION Fill Bank details, Name etcSHEET – 80G To be filled only in case of donation claimAfter this click on calculate tax and verify thatcorrect amount of tax calculated in ITR.
Generate FVU File Click on Generate tab In case any defect is there same will bepop up. After rectifying the defects, click again ongenerate tab It will be directed to another Pre_XMLsheet Click on save XML A XML files will be generated – save thesame in desired location.
Upload the return in portal Login in portal Select – Submit Return – AY 13-14. Select Form Name – ITR -1. Do you want to Digitally Sign the File – No. Next Select the XML File * - Browse the XMLfile saved in desired location. Upload Your Income tax return has beenuploaded now.
Print the intimation and sent toCPC Download the intimation Open the intimation The password is PAN and date of birth in smallcase Print the Intimation and verify Sign the intimation Sent the intimation via normal or speed post toIncome Tax department – CPC, Post BoxNo.1, Electronic City Post Office, Bangalore –560100. After few days, a e mail confirmation will comein respect of receipt of the intimation by CPC.
