  • 1. 5G MOBILE TECHNOLOGY1st Generation:Introduced in 1980’sAnalog cellular mobileData speed 2.4kbpsUses FDMA techniques with 30KHz2nd Generation :First digital mobiles-1990’sData support : 9.6-19.2KbpsUsed for voice transmissionUses circuit switched network3rd Generation :Because of low speed and incompatible technologies 3g is arrivedData rates are 128Kbps for mobile stationsFor fixed applications 2MbpsUniversal global roaming multimediavideo callingIncreased bandwidth and transfer rates accommodate web-based applications
  • 2. 4th Generation :High-speed data accessHigh-quality video streamingCombination of Wi-Fi and Wi-max5th Generation :It is a packet based networkData rate is 20MbpsFrequency band is 2.8GHzIt is a network with wide area coverage and throughputNeed of IPv6 :When a computer somewhere on the Internet needs to communicate with the cellphone, It first sends a packet to the phones home address. A directory server onthe home network forwards this to the care-of address via a tunnel,The directoryserver also sends a message to the computer informing it of the correct care-ofaddress, so future packets can be sent directly. Because of the many addresses andthe multiple layers of sub netting, IPv6 is needed for this type of mobility.Importance of IPv6 :- IPv6 addresses are 128 bits, which allow for approximately three hundred andforty trillion unique IP addressesE.g.: 2001:db8:ffff:1:201:02ff:fe03:0405- IPv6 allows more users and devices to communicate on the Internet byusing bigger numbers to create IP addresses
  • 3. - IPv6 also relieves other networking issues that can arise due to the limitednumber of addresses available on IPv4- IPv6 Extend the IP address space enough to offer a unique IP address to anydevicefor providing global connectivity and mobility among networks.5G MOBILE TECHNOLOGYWHAT IS 5G???- 5G is a packet switched wireless system with wide area coverage and highthroughput.- 5G wireless uses OFDM and millimeter wireless that enables data rate of 20mbps and frequency band of 2-8 GHz.- 5G is going to be a packed based network.OBJETIVES OF 5G:+) 5G being developed to accommodate QoS rate requirements set by furtherdevelopment of existing 4G applications.+) Flexible channel bandwidth between 5 and 20MHz, optionally up to 40MHz.+) Data rate of at list 1Gb/s between any two points in the world.+) Increase system spectral efficiency of up to 3bit/s/Hz/cell in the downlink and2.25bit/s/Hz/cell for indoor usage.STANDARD WIRELESS 5G:
  • 4. - WiMAX formed to provide conformance and interoperability of the IEEE802.16 standard. It aims to provide wireless data over long distance from point-to-point link to cellular mobile type access.- WiBRO a part of IEEE 802.16e in process to provide collaborative and genericmobile WiMAX.- 3GPP LTE a project aims to improve the mobile phone standard to cope withfuture requirements.- 5GPP 2 UMB a project to improve the CDMA2000 mobile phone standard fornext generation applications.IPv6 SUPPORT:- IPv6 increases the IP addresses size from 32bit to 128 bits, to support morelevels of addressing hierarchy and much greater number of addressable node.- IPv6 support large number of wireless enabled devices.- IPv6 Extend the IP address space enough to offer a unique IP address to anydevice.- IPv6 Improve support for IP Mobility.BENEFITS OF 5G:- High speed, high capacity, and low cost per bit.- Support interactive multimedia, voice, streaming video, Internet, and otherbroadband services ,more effective and more attreactive ,Bi directional ,accuratetraffic statistics.- Global access, service portability, and scalable mobile services.
  • 5. - The high quality services of 5G technology based on Policy to avoid error.- 5G technology is providing large broadcasting of data in Gigabit whichsupporting almost 65,000 connections.- 5G technology offer transporter class gateway with unparalleled consistency.Through remote management offered by 5G technology a user can get better andfast solution.CONCLUSION:- Migration to 5G networks ensures convergence of networks, technologies, applications and services.- 5G can serve as a flexible platform.- Wireless carriers have an opportunity to shorten Investment return, improveoperating efficiency and increase revenues.- 5G - a promising Generation of wireless communication that will changepeople’s lives.Reference: http://seminarprojects.com/Thread-5g-mobile-technology-ppt#ixzz274XzcZwW
