Current Scenario of PQC Sealant in IndiaIn the past all Indian codes specified sealing compound as per BS 4254Now IRC, NHAI, All Airports started using sealing compound as per the BS5212 part II, 1990 since last 2 years.Few points which are considered to be very important for the durabilitypoint of view & are missing in BS 5212 specification, but the same areavailable in BS 4254, PPM 400, EN 141875 & ASTM C 920.Additional Tests required are : • Elasticity • Peel Strength • Hardness • UV Resistance. • Staining Test • Tensile Strength • Hydrolysis Test. 30
