Subsequently I worked in various pilot projects related to aerospace and automotive domain. 1. Deba Automobiles, Cuttack (Dec 1999 – Feb 2001) Designation:- Maintenance Engineer As a maintenance engineer, I used to take decision related to operational and technical activity of the company. Current project description related to NVH & durability following is the description of some project work done. Objective: 1. To design and upgrade deferent types of bearing casing in assembly or in individual in static and dynamic condition by consideration of mass optimization and material optimization and develop analysis method to create a practical environment. 2. To develop methods to analyze the engine block (inline-2bore) with taking consideration of loads (variation of pressure load with respect to axial displacement & variable pressure load at journal bearings) in static and dynamic condition. 3. To develop methods to analyze and improve the blades profile mounted in a disc with taking consideration of loads (time dependent thermal load, variation of pressure load with respect to frequency) in static and dynamic condition. 4. To improve the design of safety valve assembly under extreme operating condition. Model was tested in following condition:-  Static load at fastening location. 3

Verification and up gradation of sheet metal CAD assembly on static and dynamic condition. Tools used:- Hyperworks V9.0, Patran, Nastran V2005, Catia v5.R16 & Abaqus v-6.4- 6.6. Role:-  Creation and design optimization of cad model by the use of cad tool like Catia.  Creation of FEA model by the use of Hypermesh/Patran.  Creation of analysis method by taking consideration of environment condition by the help of Hypermesh/Patran in static and dynamic condition.  To perform the analysis in Nastran/Abaqus for verification of displacement and stress value.  To perform the at most design updation in CAD tool by considering the output results with reducing mass and using low cost material. Assumption made:- • Those portions were in contact with other component in the assembly or to the ground were given support along the direction of resistance. • Bolting area of contact was fully constrained. • Bearing load applied by the help of RBE3 and by creation of load field in patran. • The range of load is between 1N to 1000N. • The frequency range was 0.0Hz to 3000Hz. (The modeling was done for all design changes made in bail housing and adopter to get the desire output in inertia relief frequency response analysis) Durability optimization of front & rear wheel drive transmission casing assembly. Job:- 1. 2nd order Tetra modeling of both housing with avg element size of 7 mm. 2. 2nd order Housing mounting with maintaining matching nodes at the bolted location. 3. Modeling of coincidencial spring to represent rubber mount for point excitation along X,Y,Z directional point load. 4. Modeling of housing fastener bolt with 2nd order tet element with matching element at threaded portion and maintain a plane section along the stud perpendicular to the axis of the bolt (The modeling of casing and mounting for deferent design change done in CAD model was done to achieve the required result) Durability optimization of valve body assembly of auto transmission system. Job:- 1. 2nd order tetra modeling of valve body housings with avg element length of 5mm. 2. 2nd order penta modeling with 2 rows of element set in gasket with capturing of 0.1 mm hole passage. 3. The gasket modeling done by making sure of matching element with the housing contact place. 4. The bolted locations were meshed with map as a rectangular pattern to capture curvature and 2 rows of circle around circle maintained for washer. 5. Hex modeling of purge valve section assembly for method verification of solenoid mechanism in working condition. 5.1.1. The slice containing the solenoid mechanism casing was modeled with hex element with maintaining 2rows of elements along the thickness. 5.1.2. The circular face was captured with high precision with projecting nods to the circular face. Hexa Modeling of one set of gear for method development which can verify the torque effect. Job:- 1. The gear teeth profiles were meshed with hexa element. 2. Along the width and along the height minimum 2rows of element were maintained. 3. Two sets of model were delivered .With capturing fillets and without capturing filets. 5

NVH & durability optimization of FOUR CYLINDER IN LINE ENGINE assembly. (for method development) Job for NVH:- a. Hexa modeling of engine assembly(block, head, oil pan, cam cover, chain cover & bed plate) b. Shell modeling (outer surface and mid surface) of oil pan, cam cover and chain cover for sisnoice result verification. c. 2nd order tetra modeling of chain cover, cam cover and oil pan with capturing bolt holes and chamfers with map as a rectangular option. d. Close volume shell modeling of oil pan, cam cover and chain cover with normal direction outside of the geometry. e. Modeling of oil pan with fluid label was done by maintaining nodes as for the label mark given. Job for durability:- a. 2nd order tetra modeling of DIS bracket with capturing all small features with high precision and with good transition. All filets bolt holes were capture by map as a rectangular algorithm. b. 2nd order tetra modeling of attachment mountings were modeled with same process mentioned above with maintaining matching mesh with the adjacent component mesh. 2. NVH & DURABILITY optimization of EXHAUST MANIFOLD casting component. (for method development and enhancement of design with respect to dynamic environment) Job for NVH and durability:- ( deference is the density of element used ) a. Each model has to be model with 2nd order tetra element and hexa element. i. In 2nd order tetra modeling the fillets, tubular feature bolt holes were captured with map as a rectangular algorithm and the stress region good transition of element was maintained. The element density was managed as per cordial deviation in geometry. ii. In hex modeling the same features were captured with high precision without any T-edge. In the total model. I have created a method to make the hex modeling simpler and faster with high precision which help me in my modeling work. It is implemented in various models and it is working perfectly. 6

NVH & DURABILITY optimization of INTAKE MANIFOLD component.(for method development and enhancement of design with respect to dynamic environment) a. 2nd order tetra modeling was done for individual close volumes exist in the total intake manifold. b. Every individual close volume was maintained matching mesh at the interference location. c. Bolt holes, fillets and small features were captured with high precision and with smooth transition. 4. NVH & DURABILITY optimization of ENGINE MAIN CRANK component.(for method development and enhancement of design with respect to dynamic environment) Job done for NVH & durability:- a. To update the new geometry by old 1st order tetra mesh and convert the things to 2nd order with mid node associated to the surface. b. Every surface and face of the tetra element was segregated to deferent collectors as per convenience. c. Any changes were modeled with 2nd order tri element and close volume verified. d. The above steps were carried out for both NVH & durability model. Job done for durability:- a. A single arm of a crank was taken for geometry optimization. b. The existing FEA models were up dated for analysis in abaqus. c. Updation work done in the model were element type, material property, set of faces to be consider for load and boundary condition ,grounded spring element, time step and output request for set of elements. (This process is followed for models assigned with changed in design) 5. Durability optimization of CONNECTING ROD. (for design enhancement under nonlinear environment) a. 2nd order tetra model was done with capturing fillets ,bolt holes, pin hole and main bearing holes with map as a rectangle algorithm. b. The connections were done as per the base line model given for reference. c. Node and element numbering were done as per the abaqus card given. 7

Close volume creation and tetra generation. c. Quality rectification of tetra element.
