Discovery of new source of natural extract
Enhancer and improver of sweet and fresh taste of Tobacco
Introduction:
The aromatization of tobacco products is not a
recent invention. Even the Indian "inventor" of
smoking tried to improve an already exquisite
aroma by adding various ingredients to the
tobacco. In the beginning, honey, maple syrup
and even drugs and small plants were used. Later
on, other ingredients rounded off the aroma of the
tobacco. Adding rum, arrack or cognac, Southern
wines or extracts of raisins, figs, tonka beans and
rose petals refined and enhanced the tobacco
flavor.
The leaf is the chief source of flavor and aroma in
any tobacco product, but because leaf quality can
vary from crop to crop, flavoring supplements are
necessary in order to maintain a consistency in
both taste and aroma.
Sweet, fruity, cooling, , Fresh , lactonic, coconut-
like, creamy, coumarin-like, waxy, heliotropin-
like, juicy, rum, sugary, woody nuances and
green aromas and tastes are desirable in
connection with augmenting or enhancing the
flavors or aromas of smoking tobaccos both prior
to smoking and on smoking in both the
mainstream and the sidestream..
The new developments of Chemdone Int of FRG, a
new source of natural extracts, now makes it possible
to accentuate the desired tobacco aroma and taste.
The special feature of these tobacco flavor improvers
lies in their ability to increase or modify the flavor of
those tobaccos.
