  • Word sense disambiguation (WSD) is the ability to identify the meaning of words in context in a computational manner.Goal of the study:1- To propose a system of Arabic semantic features of Nouns.2- To set rule-sets of Arabic Nouns Disambiguation for each multi-senseword in MSA.3- To show the relation between the current context (Context of theambiguous word), and the different contexts of use of each meaning ofthe noun.

  • Solving the problem of WSD,1- we have to express what meaning number 1 and meaning number 2 of aword are to the computer.2- How do you work out which of those meanings matches an occurrence of aword to be disambiguated .After solving the problem rule-sets are created to help in designing acomputer program for automatically determining which sense a word is beingused in.MethodologyDictionary-based approaches was used and Arabic computer corpora to findthe best match between those contexts and the instance of a word to bedisambiguated, our data contains ten words fully showed with Hyponymychain for the noun , word sense and semantic features.
  • ProceduresExpressing different meanings of the noun to the computer and proposerule-sets of how do you work out which of those meanings matches anoccurrence of a word to be disambiguated. Our strategy consisted ofmanually labeling the semantic feature for a small number of words thatappear most frequently in the dictionary. We used two types of labelsduring the manual operation: [+]and [-] for ambiguous cases, as shown inthe table.Approach .The tagger first looks at a dictionary, to find what senses the word has,and then at the context, to see which sense applies. For most instances ofmost words, given a small context of two or three words preceding andfollowing the target word, it is immediately apparent which sense holds.
