A festival is an event usually staged by a local community, which celebrates someunique aspect of that community and the Festival.Drama is the specific mode of fiction represented in performance. The termcomes from a Greek word meaning "action" which is derived from "to do","toact".Drama played a major role in the life of societies. Comedies and tragedies areperformed in the city as part of an important civic religious festival.
  • 3. Drama has an important role to play in thepersonal development of our students
  • 4. To participate in a range of drama activities andto evaluate their own and others contributions,pupils should be taught to:use a variety of dramatic conventions to exploreideas, issues, texts and meanings;use different ways to convey action, character,atmosphere and tension in scripting andperforming plays, eg through dialogue,movement, pace.
  • 5. The National Drama Festivals Association(NDFA) was formed in 1964 to encourage andsupport amateur theatre in all its forms and inparticular through the organization of dramafestivals in the United Kingdom.
