    1. Effects of Geography on World Hunger
      • By Matt Maher
    2. Geographical Factors
      • Climate
      • Soil
      • Overpopulation of Area
    3. Climate
      • Difficult to grow crops in areas because:
      • Near equator very warm throughout year
      • Asia and Africa have many drought problems
      • Some areas receive too much rain and have flooding
      • Too cold in very north hemispheres and very south hemispheres
    4. Climate
      • Graph shows The areas of world that Suffer most of hunger
      • The worst goes from red to orange to yellow
      • Africa, India, South Asia, and South America suffer the most
    5. Soil
      • Soil in an area also determines a lot about what can be grown in an area
      • All of the areas that suffer from world hunger have pretty poor soil.
      • With bad soil qualities it is very hard to grow all of the crops needed to support a country
    6. Soil
      • Soils in many of the poverty areas are made up of mainly sand and clay.
      • As the picture shows it is nearly impossible to grow crops on bad soil with no water.
    7. Population
      • Population does not have much to do with geography, but millions of people want to live in an area with warm temperatures all year long.
      • When all the people congregate to one region these regions cannot support everyone.
