  • The basic school essay is organized in a five-paragraph structure:1. Introduction2. Body Paragraph One3. Body Paragraph Two4. Body Paragraph Three5. Conclusion
  • 1.IntroductionThe introductory paragraph should do 2 things: --grab the reader’s attention so he/she wants to readmore --tell the reader what the essay will be aboutWhen you explain what the essay will be about, you do thisin a sentence that is called a “thesis statement.”The thesis statement usually comes at the end of the firstparagraph.It answers the question that was asked of you in the essayprompt, and it briefly supplies the information that youwill write about in each of your body paragraphs. English is very important for my children. They speakEnglish better than me. It’s difficult for me to help. English is difficult for me, and I need to learn it. It is important forme because I need a job, I can’t communicate, and I want to help my children.
  • EffectiveMany people speak English around the world, and it is a universallanguage. People who were born in the United States are lucky,because they grew up speaking English every day. I think if I meet new people, it will help me learn moreabout the culture here and also learn more English. For example, mycousin has a friend from Georgia. They do lots of fun activitiestogether, and my cousin is learning a lot. He is even going tocelebrate Thanksgiving with his friend and his friend’s family.
