HURM 1018 – CRN 10491 – Credit Course:
In this course students examine the labour-management relationship and environment in which it operates, including the evolution and history of the labour movement in Canada, the corresponding legal framework, the influences of unionized and non-unionized employees in their various forms and structure; the roles of governments; collective bargaining and conciliation; and arbitration, and conflict resolution are studied within the framework of contemporary issues and change.
Training and Development
HURM 1017 – CRN 10408 – Credit Course:
The student will be introduced to the psychology of the learning process on which training and development is based and will gain an understanding of the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs within organizations. The course will include the four key elements of the training and development function: needs analysis procedures; program design/development; program administration; and measurement and evaluation.
