Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council that encourages global adoption of sustainable and environmentally proven building methods. LEED benefits more than just commercial enterprises, but extends to neighborhoods, schools, healthcare and retail. This workshop takes a common sense approach to environmentally sustainable design, architecture and materials and demonstrates the benefits both in terms of lower operating costs as well as lowering environmental carbon footprint. Local and global examples will be presented.
