    • 1. Today in the United States of America… there are more than 22 Million Veterans.
    • 2. Since Operation Enduring FreedomMore than 1.6 million brave men and woman have served in Iraq,Afghanistan, and surrounding areas Half had repeated deployment
    • 3. 1 in 3 areHOMELESS Veterans
    • 4. According to Department of Veterans Affairs there are 49,425 veterans with newly diagnosed post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
    • 5. ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT MORE THAN200,000 VETERANS ARE LIVING: IN SHELTERS TRANSITIONAL HOUSING CARS And on the STREETS
    • 6. “As long as there are veterans or veteran familymembers searching for shelter on the streets...wehave failed in our duty to honor the commitment of the brave men and women who chose to serve.” Barack Obama
    • 7.  This year, the VA will spend $3.2 billion to prevent and reduce homelessness among veterans. $500 million going to homeless programs and $2.5 billion to medical services.
    • 8. In March of 2011, the U.S. Chamber of Commercelaunched a new program: Hiring Our Heroesa nationwide initiative to help veterans andmilitary spouses find meaningful employment.
