    • This slide provides a sample of a website that was a flash website with all Schedules development outsourced - UX and design work were kept internal. This p j g project got off track many times due to the client not being able to nail y g down what they wanted. After a final meeting we were able to get the client to refocus and hit all committed delivery dates.

    • Wire Frames This is a wire frame done for a client to document all requirements for the requested work.     • Wire Frames Sometimes in wire frames I would document elements of the backend so the developer would make no assumptions and the client could make sure no b i business requirements were i missing. We often determined that business requirements had not been well thought out by g y the time development started.
    • Depending on the project, Site Maps will be done before the Wire Frames Site Maps or in conjunction with the Wire Frames. This document is important to really capture the bird s eye view of the web site. bird’s site
    • This site map was color coded to help the client identify which pages Site Maps needed content, needed photography or needed to be revised.
    • Technical Specifications During a project I had to take over finishing the technical specifications for a large web site project. A resource assigned did not finish the work and was no longer available. I went l l bl through and used tracked changes so the development team would p see what had been added or changed. I did not want them to have to re- read anything that h d d thi th t had not changed since work had already started. These next few slides show samples of the work I did.

    • Budgets & Estimates We primarily use Creative Manager Pro to track our projects. In this system, we create an estimate and enter in the time for internal labor and any PO s for contract PO’s work or sales commissions. This way we know exactly the budget we have to work with internally. The smaller screen shot below is a snap shot done by CMP; it gives you an idea of remaining internal hours.
    • Budgets & Estimates Before creating a SOW for the client, an internal estimate is created using an Excel spreadsheet. Formulas are set up and items adjusted as needed to d determine the cost of h f the project. This is a sample of an internal estimate created for a project.
    • Budgets & Estimates Here is a sample of a SOW (Statement of Work) created for a ) client. It documents the cost and work to be completed by the team in great detail It also detail. identifies when the client is responsible for elements of the project.
    • Retainer Spreadsheets Several clients pre-pay for retainer hours that they can use monthly or annually. Work process is as follows: work request comes in from the client; estimate is gotten from the team; hours are approved by client to put on retainer; work is done. Work requests are completed within 24 to 48 hours. However, if th work request i more th 3 h the k t is than hours, we strive t complete th work within 1 week.     • Lessons Learned At the end of the DCPA web site redesign and development project, a debrief was conducted both internally and externally with the client. Then a combination of the two debriefs was compiled into one document. This brief snap shot was a very h l f l h helpful piece of the project because it summarized both the client’s and the internal team’s thoughts.
