  2. 2. Introduction <ul><li>The study was conducted on 400 patients attending the antenatal clinic in the out patient services of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai. </li></ul>

Objectives of the Study <ul><li>The study involved interviewing patients with a standard questionnaire with the objective </li></ul><ul><li>To assess the level of knowledge and use of various methods of contraception with respect to the age, education and demographic profile of the women </li></ul><ul><li>To analyze the reasons for acceptance and rejection of the use of contraceptives </li></ul><ul><li>To learn about the unmet need for contraception </li></ul>
  4. 4. Demographic profile of the study group <ul><li>Mean age of the women is 24.6 yrs with a standard deviation of 3.9 yrs (Median age 25 yrs) </li></ul><ul><li>Range of the age of the population 16.8 - 32.4 yrs </li></ul>
