  • 2. Ecosystem comes from the Greek word oikos which means home and systema or system.
  • 3. Ecosystems are made up of both living and non-living things
  • 4. . Parts of an ecosystem that are living or were once living are called biotic.
  • 5. Parts of an ecosystem that are non- living are called abiotic.
  • 6. An ecosystem is the interaction between these living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) factors.
  • 7. There are ecosystems everywhere…big and small
