    • To know how QuickBooks works and how to get around
    • See how to exit properly
  • Introducing QuickBooks
    • Using forms
      • You record most of your daily business transactions on a QuickBooks form, which looks just like a paper form. i.e., invoices, checks
    • Using lists
      • The list is another basic feature. You fill out most entries by selecting from a list. Customer lists, vendor lists, employee lists, etc.
    • Using registers
      • Registers contain all the activity in one account. Cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable.
  • Getting around in QuickBooks
    • In this section, you will learn how to do the following:
      • Find information to help you get started
      • Manage your open windows
      • Compare windows side by side
      • Customize navigation features
      • Use the customer, vendor, and employee centers
      • Finding information to help you get started
        • The Learning Center contains a number of video tutorials.
  • Getting around in QuickBooks
    • Manage your open windows
      • QuickBooks displays one window at a time
    • Using the menu bar
      • You can find all the commands on the menu bar
    • Using the icon bar
      • The icon bar allows you to manage your business more quickly
    • Using the navigation bar
      • The navigation bar provides quick access to the centers and onscreen help.
  • Getting around in QuickBooks
    • Making the homepage your starting point
        • The homepage provides a flowchart, a graphical presentation of a workflow, organized in logical groups
        • The QuickBooks coach can guide you through the workflows on the home page. (see next slide)
          • Notice the Vendor Center , Customer Center , and Employee Center buttons on the left & the corresponding arrows designating a flowchart of activities
  • Exiting QuickBooks
    • To exit QuickBooks
      • From the File menu click close company
        • Then click Exit
    • To make a backup copy
      • From the File menu , choose save copy or backup
        • Save the copy to a CD or USB drive
