Kindergarten Survey • Survey available on-line • Pop-up on the webpage at oess.org • Sent to local papers and social media • E-blasted to parents • Posted on Facebook • People were asked to kindly forward it to other parents of preschoolers who might not know about it • Open until December 30th

Kindergarten Survey • There is no immediate curricular need • 85% of 2013 kindergarteners Level 4 readers or above • 91% at or above the STAR Early Literacy grade-level expectation • 97% met the Math Expressions grade-level benchmark. • As 1st graders, 58% met the 'end-of-the-year benchmark‘ on the beginning of the year math placement test • DRG B – 9 of the 20 DRG districts have full-day • No state requirement for full-day • .84 is already partially extended (over typical .5 day)

Why Survey? • It is one of the goals in the ‘Strategic Plan’ • Based on the LRP committee’s community survey • Some parents may be interested in a longer day • We do not yet have a formal proposal for the BOE • Based on survey data • Several options are being considered, including a 21st Century program at MLT for 4 and 5-year-olds • Pilot
