    Coral Reefs!!!
  • 2. Ecosystem
    Coral Reefs are found in tropical oceans near the equator. The equator is the centre-line of the world.
    The largest Coral Reef in the world is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia!
    Other coral reefs are found in Hawaii, the red sea and other tropical oceans.
  • 3. Different Corals
    Brain coral
    Soft coral
    Stoney coral
    Fire coral
  • 4. Fishing Techniques And Pollution
    Many people have used knives, hammers and metal to prod on the coral while searching for interesting sea creatures. Sometimes people have even blasted the reef with dynamite or poured bleach into the water to kill fish which will then float to the surface!! Shocking! These ways are strictly banned! A lot of things that happen on land affect the sea as well!!
  • 5. What lives in a coral reef?
    Snapper!
    Turtles!
    Jellyfish
    Sea stars
    Sponges
    Sea snakes`
    shrimp
    Black Tip Reef Shark
    Crabs!
    Octopus!!
    Lobsters
  • 6. What does Coral eat?
    Coral eats shrimp, plankton and use zoxanthella as a major energy source!
    What eats Coral?
    Parrot fish, butterfly fish, angel fish, sea slugs, snails, worms and crown of thorns starfish!
  • 7. Hope for the future!
    A healthy Coral Reef is a beautiful place with a gorgeous selection of plants and animals. For thousands of years our reefs have helped us to survive! Now it is time to return the favour!!
