CeeVee.com
A Presentation by Linda B. Wynn
IT 780, Spring 2011
University of Southern Mississippi
To begin, create an account. No download is required, and the account is FREE!
This is a view of the “edit” mode, which includes fields for each section of a standard CV, with some extra options.
The easy-to-fill-in
template does the formatting for you.
Here, I’ve filled in my contact information and have moved on to the “Experience” section.
Again, the fillable fields make organization a quick and simple task.
CeeVee allows you to add details such as company size and industry. These fields can be filled in, or left blank, depending on your needs.
Be sure to consider how each item of information on your CV will be regarded by potential employers and colleagues.
After completing just a few fields, the CV begins to take shape. It has only taken a couple of minutes!
CeeVee offers a drop menu of options to customize your CV, including adding sections, re-ordering sections, changing the theme and background, and changing the visibility of your CV from public to private.
CeeVee endorses setting your CV to public, which may be ideal for your job search. However, only YOU can determine if releasing the content of your CV is appropriate. Once it is out there, it is out there. Be responsible in your privacy selections.
An online view of my CV. From here, I can change the background, print or convert my CV to a PDF.
A more complete example of what the CV would look like online and without a background.
CeeVee includes an image option. The rule of thumb is that you do NOT include a portrait with a CV, so this option may be left out. If you select an avatar, as is shown in this example, BE PROFESSIONAL. Do NOT use your flaming skull from the Playstation Network!
An example with a background. Some of the darker backgrounds bleed through the “white space” in your CV making it difficult to read, so use with caution.
Your CV online address will be http://ceevee.com/yourname
CeeVee allows you to take advantage of the connectivity of Web 2.0 by sharing your CV on Facebookthrough a few simple mouse clicks.
