    • DESIGNING FOR PARTICIPATIONproject ideaThesis R&D milestone 2 // Lisa Woods CCA MFA Design, November 19, 2012
    • Heroes are larger than life.
    • We need heroes because they shape our aspirations. Heroes symbolize the qualities we wish to possess and the pinnacles we wish to reach.
    • Yet despite all of their power to influence us, we’re the ones who choose them. Most of us have many heroes throughout our lives. Sometimes we outgrow them and sometimes we surpass them.
    • Through a participatory project, I’m interested in uncovering ourprogram’s creative heroes, displaying them, and interacting withthe stories around them in an engaging and ‘monumental’ way.
    • H ER OE S PROJECT
    • CONCEPTThe Heroes Project is an online platform,an interactive installation, and an iPad app.
    • HOW IT WORKSStep 1 : Submit your hero stories and images via a questionnaire. STEFAN SAGMEISTER
    • CAN YOU IMAGINE PULLING ASTUNT LIKE THIS? THE BALLS ONTHIS GUY!! SAGMEISTER KEEPS MEASKING MYSELF HOW OUT THERE ICAN PUT MYSELF... I CAME ACROSS WORK BY GRAPHIC DESIGNER STEFAN SAGMEISTER IN HIGH SCHOOL AND BECAME INTERESTED WITH HIS INTRICATELY MADE AND CLEVERLY THOUGHT OUT BOOKS. THIS IMAGE IS THE COVER ART FOR ‘MADE YOU LOOK.’ SAGMEISTER IS A BAD ASS AT SELF STEFAN’S ADVENTUROUS TYPOG- PROMOTION. IN THIS WORLD OF RAPHY IS ALWAYS AMAZING TO ME. OUTSOURCING AND FORGETTABLE HIS USE OF MATERIALS AND HIS NO-NAME DESIGNERS, HE’S A ATTENTION TO DETAIL. MANY OF HIS BRAND SYNONYMOUS WITH BEING IDEAS COME FROM HIS NOTEBOOKS. PROVOCATIVE AND OBSESSIVE. SO I’VE BECOME DILIGENT ABOUT KEEPING ONE TOO.
