  1. 1. Jules S. High School English 11e Presents
  2. 2. Poems
  3. 3. The moon was but a chin of gold A night or two ago, And now she turns her perfect face Upon the world below. Her forehead is of amplest blond; Her cheek like beryl stone; Her eye unto the summer dew The likest I have known. Her lips of amber never part; But what must be the smile Upon her friend she could bestow Were such her silver will! And what a privilege to be But the remotest star! For certainly her way might pass Beside your twinkling door. Her bonnet is the firmament, The universe her shoe, The stars the trinkets at her belt, Her dimities of blue.
  4. 4. When Dreams Sing of Rain Ly- ing in the rain If only everything I wanted Dripped down in tiny pills Bite-size and chew- able Scientifically proven to be able to swallow Wake up, drink up Wash away the sorrow But I know the rain will sing a- gain tomorrow
  5. 5. Nature Behind the barn Prairie grass Reclaiming the basketball court Untitled Staying awake all night Trying to dream About you Untitled The supernova Drowns out all screams In oceans of light
  6. 6. And all others universal creatures Intelligence, intelligence, intelligence, As opposed to instinct distinguishes, Man from animals, fishes, insects, Brain

  8. 8. Like some people are Or so they say I found god some sick person says I found love some desperate person says Only Illusions only Illusions Transpired from a distorted society Blindly following not thinking But, Oh yes! Found Found
  9. 9. Learning Why this is this and that is that Teacher please explain I want to have a hold on the universe People so ignorant, always needing an explanation Not everything has an explanation Do not ever expect one Mighty scientists give me a threshold on an uncontrollable universe Please I need an explanation
  10. 10. <ul><li>A butterfly </li></ul><ul><li>Kisses the lip </li></ul><ul><li>Of a crimson flower petal </li></ul><ul><li>Mourning tears </li></ul><ul><li>Of morning dew </li></ul><ul><li>Show the reflection </li></ul><ul><li>Of blood </li></ul><ul><li>Lost to the thorns </li></ul><ul><li>Rolling slowly down </li></ul><ul><li>To the bottom </li></ul><ul><li>Of the slender stem </li></ul><ul><li>Where the sleeping people lay </li></ul><ul><li>Naked as we are </li></ul><ul><li>To ourselves </li></ul><ul><li>Naked of flesh </li></ul><ul><li>And blood </li></ul><ul><li>A skeleton </li></ul>SKELETON
  11. 11. Reflecting and refracting Easily seen through Not ever having its own identity Only mimicking and hoping for identity Sometimes people think that it does It's only an illusion; just like its so called identity Think for yourself Glass Reflecting and refracting Easily seen through Not ever having its own identityOnly mimicking and hoping for identity Sometimes people think that it does It's onlyan illusion just like its so called identityThink foryourself
  12. 12. Into a dark hole Darker than night A void, puzzling, yet amusing Not knowing but wanting to know Its depth unknown Everything about it unknown It may seem scary, but curiosity drives the mind Hole Hole Hole
  13. 13. I am a dead tree Somewhere in the glen A crow will come and visit me But only now and then I see a patch of wild roses Beautiful and perfect in every way People come and gaze at them Each and every day I am not surprised at all That no one comes to gaze at me For I am bent and worthless Not the same as roses you see I am a dead tree Somewhere in the glen A crow will come and visit me But only now and then I am a dead tree Somewhere in the glen A crow will come and visit me But only now and then I see a patch of wild roses Beautiful and perfect in every way People come and gaze at them Each and every day I see a patch of wild roses Beautiful and perfect in every way People come and gaze at them Each and every day I am not surprised at all That no one comes to gaze at me For I am bent and worthless Not the same as roses you see I am not surprised at all That no one comes to gaze at me For I am bent and worthless Not the same as roses you see The Dead Tree
  14. 14. Whiteness glimmers in Dawn bends through the pane Fog, soft as cobwebs Clinging Close as a lingering ache, or Rejected love Mournful, ashen cheeked Muted, beautiful, Leeching naïve day To congealed moonlight -- Milky wormwood memory Warm breath once shared Fog Whiteness glimmers in Dawn bends through the pane Fog, soft as cobwebs Clinging Close as a lingering ache, or Rejected love Mournful, ashen cheeked Muted, beautiful, Leeching naïve day To congealed moonlight -- Milky wormwood memory Warm breath once shared Whiteness glimmers in Dawn bends through the pane Fog, soft as cobwebs Clinging Close as a lingering ache, or Rejected love Mournful, ashen cheeked Muted, beautiful, Leeching naïve day To congealed moonlight -- Milky wormwood memory Warm breath once shared Whiteness glimmers in Dawn bends through the pane Fog, soft as cobwebs Clinging Close as a lingering ache, or Rejected love Mournful, ashen cheeked Muted, beautiful, Leeching naïve day To congealed moonlight -- Milky wormwood memory Warm breath once shared
  15. 15. PERSECUTION People believe you cannot See or Hear or Worship An invisible they have Not Seen, Heard, or Worshipped.
  16. 16. ROUTINE When it happens The entire structure changes And waiting for schedules Becomes unimportant. TRUTH Bringing peace isn't a matter Of making small men listen, But of making large men hear The Heat Man, oh, man it's hot. I want to relax, But instead of sleep, Sun is what I got.
