He Was a Mexican Roman Catholic priest,When Garibay entering the seminary to studyphilologist,in 1906, learned severalscholar ofin Mexico linguist, historian, andlanguages like Mesoamerican cultures,pre-ColumbianLatin, Greek, Hebrew, Nahuatl.English, French and German languages wspecifically of the Nahuatl peoples of the erecentral Mexican to dominate.then also came highlands.
While a student had the opportunity to work in the seminary library……and there discovered with amazing books and manuscripts in Nahuatl texts!!!
Eventually, he became a lover of ancientMexico and came to dominate the Nahuatland Otomi
Garibays work on our pre-Hispanic culturewas important, because many of the skills ofour people were passed voice by voice forgenerations, but were never recorded inwritten form or translated into Spanish.
Garibays work sparked interest in theinvestigation of Prehispanic world through histranslations and studies proposing the rescueof the ancient Mexican culture. These studieswere reflected in his many columns innewspapers, magazines and more than 10books .
