After kicking off the Game Development Competition for Teachers on March 31 on TEDxAmmanTeachers (http://www.tedxammanteachers.com) stage, dozens of teachers had signed up for the challenge to create the next generation educational tools - using GAMES. May 26 marked the day when these educators met in one room in a first-of-its-kind session/workshop conducted by our partners - Gaming Lab (http://www.gaminglab.jo/index.php) and Maysalward (http://maysalward.com). Mr. Nour Khrais lead the session by touching on the history of games and poking the educators' brains to answer questions like "Why is gamification of the learning experience the next hottest thing in education?". The teachers engaged in an interactive exercise of creating game stories .. in a few minutes we saw the story boards for games teaching middle-school Math and KG-level English!! TEDxAmmanTeachers Game Development competition is not the first competition under TEDxAmman umbrella. TEDxYouth@Amman has launched a similar competition for youth last November.
