  • 7. SNOW LEOPARDSnow Leopard was publicly unveiled on June 8, 2009 at the APPLE WORLDWIDE DEVELOPERS CONFERENCE. On August 28, 2009, it was released worldwide,and was made available for purchase from Apple's website and its retail stores at the price of US$29 for a single-user license. As a result of the low price, initial sales of Snow Leopard were significantly higher than that of its predecessors. The release of Snow Leopard came nearly two years after the introduction of Mac OS X Leopard,
  • 8. OS X MAVERICS OS X Mavericks (version 10.9) is the tenth major release of OS X for laptops, and Mac servers. OS X Mavericks announced June 10, 2013 in the 2013 WWDC, and it can be downloaded from the Mac App Store. This new version of OS X marks the beginning of a change in the naming scheme of OS X, leaving the use of the big cats and turning to names based on locations in California. So this version of the operating system called Mavericks, a town in California where the 'surf' is very popular, which makes the logo a wave from the sea.
