  • 3.  Representsall money being spent for all health goods and services-both public and private Constantly increase over the past 10 yrs  1991 = P35.9B  1997 = P87.9B  2002 = P115.4B  2003 = P136B Representsan average of 15% increase in expenditures per year.
  • 4.  WHO recommends developing countries to spend about 5% of its GNP. Phil= spent only as high as 3.44% of GNP in 1997  In 2003 = 2.9% in GNP
  • 5.  South Korea and New Zealand spend above the WHO recommended rate of 5% Hong Kong = near 5% Philippines and Thailand = less5%  In 2001 lowest percentage spent for health 3.20%
  • 6.  76%of all health expenditure are used for personal health. PersonalHealth goods and services are those goods and services which manifest effects only on the person utilizing healthcare  Surgery rehab health  Hospitalization dental service
  • 7.  PublicHealth programs are endeavors which will have effects on many sectors of a population.  Immunization  Anti-smoking campaign  Pollution control  Maternal and child health programs  12% of the total health spending. (PHIL)
