IDEA/PRODUCTION PROCESS• The idea for the LEGO Stratos jump came to Creative Director, GerdSchulte-Doeinghaus, when Baumgartner had to postpone his originalattempt on October 7 due to poor weather conditions. It was conceived,written, filmed and edited in the short window of opportunity before therescheduled event on October 14.• “The build-up to Felix’s jump was tremendous and suspense keptbeing ratcheted up by the delays” says Schulte-Doeinghaus.“The public was hungry for those firstimages of the jump. We knew that if we could get ourfilm out just before the real thing, we could really make an impact.”• Ironically, just like the Stratos team we only had a very short weatherwindow to film on the morning of Thursday 11 October, and had to workthrough the night to ensure we were ready on time” say Schulte-Doeinghaus.• 4 hours before the real jump the videowas online….
