2. Once upon a time, on a cool spring morning, the three Monkey
sisters sat talking in their room. The three were triplets, so they
looked exactly the same. Their fur was brown and they loved to
wear dresses all the time.
The three Monkey sisters had a problem, though. Molly, Lily, and
Kelly Monkey really, really didn’t want to take Mr. Grizzly’s math
test, so they decided to pull a prank.
3. Molly, the most mischievous of the Monkey sisters, said that the
girls should put something in Mr. Grizzly’s coffee.
“Mr. Grizzly really likes his coffee,” Molly said with a twinkle in
her eye.
“I agree!” said Lily, “But what can we do to the coffee?”
“Dirt,” Kelly said. “We should put dirt in Mr. Grizzly’s coffee!”
It was decided. The three sisters would put dirt in Mr. Grizzly’s
cup to prank him. Maybe then they wouldn’t have to take the
math test! The appearance of the coffee would be deceiving.
4. The three sisters carried out the steps of their plan. Lily, the
shorter of the three was tasked with getting the dirt off of the
ground. Kelly, the one in the middle, was tasked with making the
coffee, and Molly, the oldest, was tasked with getting the coffee
cup off the highest shelf in their tree house.
They put all the parts of their prank together. They even put a
bow around the coffee cup! Boy, was Mr. Grizzly in for a
surprise!
5. On the way to school, with the dirt-coffee in hand, the three
Monkey sisters wondered if they were making a mistake.
“Is this a mean idea?” asked Kelly Monkey.
“I’m not sure,” said Lily Monkey.
“I guess we’ll find out! Ha ha! He he he!” said the most
mischievous of the bunch, Molly Monkey.
6. When the three Monkey sisters got to school, they walked in to Mr.
Grizzly’s class. Mr. Grizzly was a huge, brown grizzly bear, but he had a
soft heart.
“Good morning, my favorite monkeys,” said an excited Mr. Grizzly, “Are
you ready for the test?”
“Hello Mr. Grizzly,” the three Monkeys sisters said nervously, “We think
we’re ready for the test.”
The Monkey sisters really didn’t want to prank Mr. Grizzly, but they
decided to follow through with their prank, regardless.
7. Lily Monkey said, “We have a treat for you, Mr. Grizzly! We
made you some delicious coffee, just the way you like it!”
“Thank you, Monkey sisters!” Mr. Grizzly said, “Thank you very,
very much.”
The girls watched as Mr. Grizzly took a big swig of the dirt filled
cup. As soon as he did, Mr. Grizzly spit everything out!
“What is in this?!” he exclaimed.
The girls walked up to his desk, and said sheepishly, “Dirt. We
wanted to prank you so we didn’t have to take the test.”
8. On the inside, Mr. Grizzly got really mad. The dirt in the coffee started to
make him cough and he was getting sick! He was so angry at the three
Monkey sisters for putting dirt in his coffee, and he really wanted to let out a
big Grizzly roar. He was sad that the bad coffee was disguised as good
coffee. It’s appearance was deceiving! But, he realized that he did not need
to get revenge. The three Monkey sisters had said sorry. There was no
reason for him to retaliate.
Mr. Grizzly said, “Girls, we are still going to have to take the test, but you
said you were sorry. I know you did not mean to harm me, you just thought
it would be funny.”
“Yes Mr. Grizzly,” Kelly Monkey said, “we are so sorry and we will never do
that again!”
“Thank you for not retaliating, Mr. Grizzly,” Lily Monkey said, we really didn’t
mean any harm.
9. Then, the three Monkey sisters gave Mr. Grizzly a big bear hug,
and everyone smiled.
